This short course offered by the world leading UCL Institute of Neurology in Queen Square gives an introduction to the clinical manifestations and differential diagnoses of vascular disease.  In addition to teaching about the stroke classification systems, differing presentations of cortical and lacunar stroke it also provides teaching in depth regarding mimics, stroke and vision and hearing.

  1. To localise a stroke and identify the arterial supply
  2. To know the more common anatomical variants and understand the impact on treatment options
  3. Be able to define features of a clinical history which identify common mimics
  4. Evaluate the risk of stroke in a patient with TIA
  5. Describe the diagnostic pathway for a patient with a vasculopathy and suggest treatment strategies
