Overview

This module is designed for physiotherapists who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of the current evidence base for rehabilitation intervention in neurological populations.

Physiotherapeutic treatment approaches across a range of acute to chronic and mild to severe presentations will be reviewed in the context of the current evidence base. Included in the module will be a critical review and analysis of approaches to treatment intervention. Clinical reasoning and management will also be explored.

Students will be encouraged to reflect critically on their own practice and scope of practice and will be expected to actively participate in discussions, debate and workshops.

Who this course is for

The course is suitable for qualified physiotherapists with a degree in physiotherapy at least equivalent to 2:2 BSc qualification in the UK.

Teaching, structure and assessment

The course will be taught over six days, from 21 February to 28 February 2018.

The module will be delivered via a combination of face to face lectures, workshops and seminars. Teaching will be facilitated by relevant experts in their field. Online activities including video analysis of clinical manifestations of neurological disorders and assessment and quizzes will be incorporated into the module and developed over time to enhance the learning experience.?

a standalone short course for CPD purposes (with certificate of attendance).

a 'taster module' earning UCL credits.

Assessment: This module is assessed by a 3 hour unseen written exam, proposed date,TBC
