Description

Who is this course for?

The ASD Professional Learning Network (PLN) is for teachers in all phases with a professional interest in ASD. These professionals might include for example, teachers in charge of ASD resource bases, advisory teachers in ASD and all teachers concerned with the education of pupils with ASD.

What will I get out of this course?

Our PLNs are made up of like-minded colleagues seeking to develop and exchange professional expertise. The PLNs are a way for members to keep up to date with the latest research, policy and practice in ASD and how this might be applied in their individual settings.

A SENJIT academic staff member, usually Dr. Amelia Roberts, will always be part of the PLN to support facilitation; provide up-to-date information and share research. The SENJIT staff member will also link with IOE researchers from the Centre for Research in Autism Education that PLN members may wish to invite to speak with the group on topics of particular interest.

All PLNs meet on a termly basis and participation in a network is for a year.

The first PLN took place on wednesday 2nd November 2016.

Please bring along any case-studies to share that focus on children struggling with ASD together with examples of good practice.
