Description

The Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Professional Learning Network (PLN) is for all specialist teachers in literacy and dyslexia. We particularly welcome our alumni students from the SpLd (dyslexia) masters programme.  Our PLN are made up of like-minded colleagues seeking to develop and exchange professional expertise. The introduction of the revised Code of Practice has significant implications for schools and we anticipate that this might be an area of focus for the group. In addition, the PLN are a way for members to keep up to date with the latest research in literacy difficulties, dyslexia and related subjects. The networks are self-steering and led by member practitioners in order to ensure the direction reflects the needs and interests of the members.

A SENJIT staff member (Gill Brackenbury and Liz Herbert) will also join the group to support facilitation and link with IOE researchers that members may wish to invite to speak with the group.

All PLN meet on a termly basis and participation in a network is for a year.

The first PLN met on Tuesday 1st November 2016.

Please bring along any case-studies to share that focus on children struggling with literacy together with examples of good practice.
