F86 XNAT Workshop – 31st October to 4th November 2022

Description

XNAT is an open-source web application that supports a wide variety of imaging informatics workflows for both research and clinical applications, and it has been widely adopted by research institutions around the world. XNAT has been in development for more than 15 years and has a vibrant community of developers and system administrators who offer contributions and guidance.

XNAT Workshops are a chance for this community – experienced developers and new users alike – to come together and take part in collaborative presentations and projects. Attendees will be able to see case studies from existing installations, learn about new and emerging features and technologies, and help shape future development.

This five-day course will include:

  • Presentations on newly released features and functionality
  • Hands-on tutorials for new users on the basics of working with XNAT
  • Advanced hands-on practical exercises for experienced users focusing on topics such as image annotation, integrated AI and Jupyter Notebooks, querying and retrieving DICOM data from a PACS, and developing processing containers
  • An open forum to guide key features of XNAT 2 development
  • An open presentation by attendees to talk about their XNAT installations and use cases

In addition to these structured elements of the workshop, there will also be planned "hackathon" time for attendees to team up and work hand in hand with XNAT developers on new project ideas. We encourage any interested parties to nominate and upvote project ideas prior to the start of the workshop.

Attendees will be provided snacks, beverages, and lunch each day. There will also be a casual welcome reception on the first evening of the course, and a group dinner later in the week. Please let course admins know of any dietary restrictions that you may have and we will work to accommodate them.
