Chemical Engineering (F43)![]() Situated in the heart of London on the main campus of UCL (University College London), the department is one of the top research and teaching Chemical Engineering departments in the UK, achieving world class standing. Research is a core activity in the department, and it covers a broad range of scales from the molecular to the complex systems level. We aim to create pioneering breakthroughs in science and technology and seek solutions to Grand Challenges (such as energy, materials, sustainable manufacturing, health and environment), based on significant advances in fundamental knowledge. To this end, we collaborate widely with other departments in UCL Engineering, Chemistry and beyond, as well as various academic and industrial research groups. F43 Ramsay Society Frank Morton Nottingham 2026DescriptionFrank Morton Sports Day is the annual Inter-University Chemical Engineering event, held each year at a unique host city. This year, the event will be hosted by the University of Nottingham on 16th February 2026. This product includes the coach journey to Nottingham on 15th February, one night stay at Nottingham City Centre’s Premier Inn and the return coach journey on the 16th itself, alongside the tickets to the Frank Morton event. All other expenses are to be covered by students. No refunds will be available.
The event consists of a wide range of sporting, social, networking, and academic activities, including laser tag, football, table tennis, and many more! It will aim to bring together Chemical Engineers from over 18 UK Universities including: Birmingham, Edinburgh, Imperial. Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, and Surrey! The Frank Morton Trip will briefly go as follows (a separate detailed itinerary is also available): As part of the event we will leave from UCL at 10am with a private coach on Sunday 15th February, and arrive at our accommodation at Nottingham City Centre’s Premier Inn by around 2pm and spend the day exploring the city of Nottingham. On Monday 16th Feb, the official in-person Frank Morton event will take place. You will partake in your chosen activities which you will get to soon decide, with an opportunity to join a careers fair dedicated to Chemical Engineers. On the evening of Monday 16th Feb, there will be a music and entertainment night for all Frank Morton attendees across the UK (Sober social options are available). We will be staying at Nottingham City Centre’s Premier Inn. Students will be in rooms of 2 (you will have the opportunity to select your room-mates closer to the date of the event). Continental breakfast will be included in your stay.
