Technical Visit to Crossness Pumping Station and Engines.
Detailed Description
A 2-hour evening visit to the Victorian Crossness Pumping Station. The station is a marvel of Victorian Engineering and was a project instigated following the disaster of significant cholera outbreaks of the 19th Century in London. The epidemiology of these events are often cited as the first example of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) being developed and used.
£15 per person for 2 hour tour (travel to be paid personally by each delegate).
