Chemical Engineering (F43)![]() Situated in the heart of London on the main campus of UCL (University College London), the department is one of the top research and teaching Chemical Engineering departments in the UK, achieving world class standing. Research is a core activity in the department, and it covers a broad range of scales from the molecular to the complex systems level. We aim to create pioneering breakthroughs in science and technology and seek solutions to Grand Challenges (such as energy, materials, sustainable manufacturing, health and environment), based on significant advances in fundamental knowledge. To this end, we collaborate widely with other departments in UCL Engineering, Chemistry and beyond, as well as various academic and industrial research groups. Chemical Engineering (F43)F43 Rideal 2023DescriptionThe Rideal Conference 2023 will be held at University College London, London, UK, from Wednesday 3rd – Friday 5th May 2023 with the theme of “Catalysis for a Sustainable Future”.
The conference brings together chemists, chemical engineers and physicists interested in the fundamentals and application of catalysis, and heterogeneous catalysis in particular.
Speakers include: Michael Claeys (University of Cape Town, South Africa) Chris Hardacre (University of Manchester, UK) Amol Kulkarni (CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India) Nora de Leeuw (University of Leeds, Leeds, UK) Can Li (Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, China) Raj Natarajan (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India) Misbah Sarwar (Johnson Matthey Technology Centre, UK) Susannah Scott (University of California Santa Barbara, USA)
One of the aims of the meeting is to allow young researchers and students a unique platform to get first-hand information from world-renowned scientists on topics of prime importance in catalysis. There are also many opportunities for young researchers and students to get involved and have a chance to have their work featured in the poster session. https://www.rsc.org/events/detail/76022/rideal-2023
