UCL Medical School

D15 Advances & Innovations In Clinical Infectious Diseases 2024

Description

The course explores the latest research developments in Infectious Diseases, with a view on how they have impacted or have the potential to impact clinical care in the near future. All the speakers are academic leaders in their respective fields and have made significant contributions to their research space in the recent past. Most but not all will be clinical academics, and thus will have an eye on the translational opportunities of research discoveries.

The course will be structured as a one-day hybrid event. We anticipate 40-50 attendees in person on the UCL Campus, with a similar size joining online via MS Teams. The talks will be 20 minutes each with at least 10 minutes for asking questions from each speaker, with a dedicated Teams moderator ensuring the in-person audience is not prioritised over the online one. There will be 4 sessions in the day, allowing plenty of time for discussion over break time for in-person attendees, including the opportunity to speak with presenters. Breakout rooms will be generated as required for the online audience to continue discussion over break times.
