Description

Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders

Join us for an engaging and interactive training where we'll dive into the core principles of Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for anorexia nervosa. This hands-on session will guide participants through the three phases of treatment, allowing you to practice essential techniques (e.g., the family meal) and explore lively debates shaping the field (e.g., the role of weighing patients). You'll gain valuable insights into maintaining treatment fidelity and online delivery. We will also cover applying FBT strategies to treat other eating disorders, including avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), bulimia nervosa, and adaptations for emerging adults. With research-backed evidence and a look at promising future directions, this workshop offers you essential tools and knowledge to enhance your practice. This training is suitable for providers who have a basic understanding of eating disorders and their medical complications and is geared toward basic and intermediate levels of knowledge regarding FBT.

Please note that the session runs from 9.30am to 5pm.
