Course Description

The three-day course begins with a comprehensive introduction to worldbuilding, emphasizing its role in design practices, storytelling, film, games, and art. The course then elaborates on methodological approaches and introduces a diverse set of tools, both analog and digital, laying the foundation for creative exploration. Participants engage in hands-on activities including 3D scanning, filming and sound recording to produce practical outcomes through a combination of storytelling, role play, and performative elements. The course intertwines digital and physical worlds for the sake of creative expression. You will be working in small groups to create new digital worlds collaboratively.

 

Upon completion of the course, you will acquire skills and techniques aimed at creating short films and time-based media. This includes utilizing space, objects, and lighting to craft cohesive and visually appealing cinematic environments. The exercises are designed to familiarize you with key aspects of worldbuilding and narrative design.
