DescriptionA blended course giving you an effective grounding in project management. This course will help you understand how the different elements of project management interact, and how your project fits into its environment. This course is aimed at anyone who has worked in a project environment for 2-3 years, or whose role has expanded to include some project management responsibilities. Run by UCL’s Technology Management Group and accredited by Association for Project Management (APM), the course has been updated to align with the 7th edition of APM Body of Knowledge and follows APM’s Project Management Qualification (PMQ). The course is delivered in a blended mode, with three full-day classroom sessions with presentations, discussions and exercises, sandwiched between several self-directed online activities and online sessions. The APM PMQ is assessed by an online typed exam, in controlled conditions and set by APM. You can take either an exam arranged via UCL or one of APM’s open exams. APM PMQ Examination – Online Candidates wishing to take the exam via UCL will need to pay for their exam in addition to the course fee. · The expected deadline to sit the exam is 6 weeks after completung the course. To have the best chance of success at the APM Project Management Qualification exam, learners will be required to work with the lead tutor following the course to demonstrate exam readiness. Exam bookings are processed separately by the administrative team in liaison with the candidate. Candidates are able to select the day and time that suits their personal needs.
Terms and Conditions:
UCL classifies English language level as Standard, Good or Advanced. This maps to a variety of levels of the most common language qualifications. For those with There is no expected difficulty with this course or the exam.
There is not expected to be frequent difficulty with the course or the exam. However, you should be familiar with the course materials before during the online portion of the course and identify any challenging sections. Tutors in the classroom will be happy to advise and to comment on examples of your written work.
It is the delegates responsibility to be honest with themselves about their English ability.

Exams are done remotely and online. Exam candidates will need to ensure that they have a computer/laptop (with webcam and microphone), smartphone or similar device with a camera, ID verification documents (either a passport or driving licence) and strong internet connection. Please note that your exam will be recorded and reviewed at a later date by an invigilator.
If the candidate has any reasonable adjustments, the request and relevant evidence must be received by UCL by atleast 14 working days prior to the examination date. Candidates for whom English is not their first language may apply in advance for use of a translation dictionary. Requests should be passed to UCL ten working days before the exam. A standard English dictionary is NOT permitted.
Candidate cancellation fees will be charged if the exam is cancelled within five days of the exam date. This includes postponements and time changes. APM may agree to waive this fee if they receive supporting evidence.
If a candidate is absent from their exam, their exam will become auto voided and the cancellation fee will be charged. If a candidate misses the exam due to causes beyond their control e.g. illness, it is possible to apply for a refund of the cancellation fee. An explanation with appropriate evidence (e.g. medical) should be sent to apmqualifications@ucl.ac.uk UCL will then apply for dispensation on the candidate’s behalf.
Candidates may choose to defer to a later examination date. The decision to defer must be taken before the examination enrolment deadline. Candidates may only defer once. The new examination date must be within 6 months of attending the course at UCL. After this point, if they still wish to take the exam, they may be charged the difference if the examination fee has changed by APM. The candidate may also be required to attend further revision sessions in order to be eligible. If a candidate surpasses the agreed deadline and/or chooses not to sit their exam (prior to booking) they will be issued a refund equal to the amount originally paid for the exam fee.
Results are sent to candidates 6-10 weeks after completion of the examination.
To resit the examination, the candidate will need to pay the APM resit fee and must have taken the course at UCL within the past 12 months. Requests from candidates predating this will be considered.

Your personal data will be shared with APM and processed in accordance with APM’s privacy policy.
Minimum threshold for delivery
UCL reserves the right to cancel or change the dates of the course delivery if the minimum number of delegates has not been met. In such cases, if a delegate is no longer able to attend or if the course is cancelled, delegates will receive full refunds. |
