In addition to the 32 hours of guided session time, you will require 40 hours of additional preparation and practice time to successfully complete the course and pass the APM PMQ exam. The course tutors will assist prospective PMQ candidates with feedback and guidance to help you select the most appropriate time for the exam.

APM PMQ Examination – Online

Candidates wishing to take the exam via UCL will need to pay for their exam in addition to the course fee, either at the time of booking or separately.·     

Exams booked through UCL must be taken within 4 weeks after completing the course.  

To have the best chance of success at the APM Project Management Qualification exam, learners will be required to work with the lead tutor following the course to demonstrate exam readiness.

Exam bookings are processed separately by the administrative team in liaison with the candidate. Candidates are provided with suggested dates and times to suit their personal needs. 

Terms and Conditions:

1. English requirement

UCL classifies English language level as Standard, Good or Advanced. This maps to a variety of levels of the most common language qualifications. For those with

Good level (IELTS 7.0 or CEFR C1 level “Proficient User”)

      There is no expected difficulty with this course or the exam.

Standard level (IELTS 6.5 or CEFR B2/C1 “Independent/Proficient User”)

      There is not expected to be frequent difficulty with the course or the exam.

However, you should be familiar with the course materials before during the online portion of the course and identify any challenging sections. Tutors in the classroom will be happy to advise and to comment on examples of your written work.

If you don't have this level of English, you won't automatically be refused a place, but you may find the course and its exam more challenging. You should look at the guidance notes and sample paper available from APM before enrolling and, if in doubt, talk to a member of our course team.

      It is the delegates responsibility to be honest with themselves about their English ability.

2. Visas

It is the delegate’s responsibility to research and comply with any immigration requirements prior attending the course. For advice, please email visaadvice@ucl.ac.uk for support. The PMQ Administrator will be able to able to assist in this matter.

3. Examination

Exams are done remotely and online. Exam candidates will need to ensure that they have a computer/laptop (with webcam and microphone), smartphone or similar device with a camera, ID verification documents (either a passport or driving licence) and strong internet connection. Please note that your exam will be recorded and reviewed at a later date by an invigilator.

4. Candidate Dispensations and Reasonable Adjustments

If the candidate has any reasonable adjustments, the request and relevant evidence must be received by UCL by atleast 14 working days prior to the examination date. No request will be accepted after the examination has commenced. For more information on Reasonable Adjustments, please see the document Candidate Guidance in APM Project Management Qualification.

• Translation Dictionary

Candidates for whom English is not their first language may apply in advance for use of a translation dictionary. Requests should be passed to UCL ten working days before the exam. A standard English dictionary is NOT permitted.

5. Cancellations, changes

Candidate cancellation fees will be charged if the exam is cancelled within five days of the exam date. This includes postponements and time changes. APM may agree to waive this fee if they receive supporting evidence.

• Missing an exam

If a candidate is absent from their exam, their exam will become auto voided and the cancellation fee will be charged.

If a candidate misses the exam due to causes beyond their control e.g. illness, it is possible to apply for a refund of the cancellation fee. An explanation with appropriate evidence (e.g. medical) should be sent to apmqualifications@ucl.ac.uk UCL will then apply for dispensation on the candidate’s behalf.

• Exam Deferral

If a candidate surpasses the agreed deadline and/or chooses not to sit their exam (prior to booking) they will be issued a refund equal to the amount originally paid for the exam fee.

6. Results

Results are sent to candidates 6-10 weeks after completion of the examination.

7. Resit

To resit the examination, the candidate will need to pay the APM resit fee and must have taken the course at UCL within the past 12 months.  Requests from candidates predating this will be considered.

      8.Data Protection

Your personal data will be shared with APM and processed in accordance with APM’s privacy policy.

Minimum threshold for delivery

UCL reserves the right to cancel or change the dates of the course delivery if the minimum number of delegates has not been met. In such cases, if a delegate is no longer able to attend or if the course is cancelled, delegates will receive full refunds.
