Evening seminar for UK Architects. The Building Safety Act 2022 has placed additional responsibility on the Principal Designer – who must now demonstrate professional competence and assume legal responsibility for the design of a fundamentally fire safe building. In the absence of a robust professional framework that will deliver the required professional competency, architects will inadvertently assume liability and expose themselves unnecessarily to risk. There are options – both legal and technical – that require a fundamental shift in the mindset of the practicing architect. These options will be described and explained in full.
