Teaching and structure The course is structured around practical workshops in which team members work together in their individual companies to develop an Impact Strategy for their enterprise. Inputs will be given by course leaders to introduce key ideas and frameworks in an interactive format with lots of opportunities for discussion. An online interactive workbook will guide the course activity in which participants will work collaboratively on tasks. Individual support will be provided throughout in response to questions and challenges that arise. There is a maximum capacity of 20 participants, with each company working in teams of 2-3 participants to maximise the practical value of the course for each company’s context. Learning outcomes The goal of this course is to develop leadership skills and know-how to lead an impactful EdTech enterprise. In the course, participants will start to develop the capacities necessary to lead an impactful EdTech enterprise. The major learning outcomes will be how to write and implement an Impact Strategy, how to measure impact continuously, how to lead and manage research activities in a way that is empowering to leadership to make evidence-informed decisions, and how to ultimately build impactful and trustworthy products that deliver on their promise to users. Preparation There will be a pre-course task, which will be sent to registered participants at least two weeks before the course. This will include a short piece of pre-reading, and an initial company-based activity to gather some company-specific materials that will be needed during the course. Target audience Participants are ideally leadership team members of EdTech enterprises in teams of 2-3 members per company. If all participants cannot be senior leadership, at least one must be from the leadership team of the organisation.
