More InformationAt the same time, teachers continue to express a lack of preparedness in their ability to teach students with different needs in their classrooms and are unclear about the skills required to improve outcomes. It is, therefore, important to find tools that can help to determine teachers’ preparedness to teach students with SEND so that there can be greater clarity about areas of strength and areas for development. Zachary and Daisy talk about their collaborative research in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Türkiye using three evidence-informed frameworks that focus on international standards of practice expected of teachers working with students with SEND. They consider how their research informs understanding of teachers’ strengths and areas for development in different contexts and how this understanding can strategically guide priorities for professional development.
