While quantitative data can tell you what is happening in public health, ethnography reveals the critical why behind health behaviours and programme outcomes. This 2.5 day course provides health scientists and practitioners with the essential tools to gather these human-centred insights and translate them into actionable strategies. 

Day 1: Capturing Health Behaviour Ethnographically
Learn to design robust, ethical studies and craft effective interview guides that uncover the social and cultural drivers of health behaviours. Then, move beyond anecdote by mastering the principles of reliability, validity, and generalizability in qualitative research to ensure your findings are credible and defensible from the start.

Day 2: From Ethnographic Data to Generalizable Public Health Insights
We'll guide you in interpreting raw ethnographic data to generate powerful, generalisable insights. Apply this deep understanding directly to shaping effective, evidence-based interventions and policy.

Day 3: Apply insights to your practice

Translate theory into practice. We’ll workshop how to apply course insights to your specific challenges, enabling you to leave with a tailored action plan and clear goals for integrating ethnographic insights into your work.
